In March 2004, Stocky received a phone call from Rideau Hall, the Ottawa residence of the Governor General, asking him if he would accept the Order of Canada. This is the highest civilian honour that a Canadian can receive. It recognizes a lifetime of outstanding service to the nation. Stocky, of course, said yes.
